As a therapist and former school social worker with over 20 years in public education, Melissa considers it a privilege to journey alongside children and families providing short term interventions and support for individuals experiencing peer conflicts, family changes, academic struggles, social learning challenges, as well as grief, loss and trauma.
Melissa provides individual, family and group counseling with an emphasis on supporting the unique developmental needs facing children, adolescents and young adults. Her experience includes mindfulness, attachment and trauma, grief and loss, attentional/behavioral challenges, Social Thinking, and anxiety and depression. Melissa has worked with children from infancy through adolescence and offers a compassionate and holistic approach that is client centered, strengths based and solution focused.
Melissa holds a Master's in Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor's degree from Hope College with Social Work major.
